Explore Munich holidays and discover the best time and places to visit. | Tall tankards and high-tech cars, edgy art and Lederhosen – Munich is a city where traditional and modern sit side by side like few places on earth.

The Olympiapark München (English: Olympic Park Munich) in Munich, Germany, is an Olympic Park which was constructed for the 1972 Summer Olympics.[1] Located in the Oberwiesenfeld neighborhood of Munich, the Park continues to serve as a venue for cultural, social, and religious events, such as events of worship. It includes a contemporary carillon. The Park is administered by Olympiapark München GmbH, a holding company fully owned by the state capital of Munich.

The Olympic Tower (German: Olympiaturm) in the Olympic Park, Munich has an overall height of 291 m (955 ft) and a weight of 52,500 tons. At a height of 190 m (620 ft) there is an observation platform as well as a small rock and roll museum housing various memorabilia, which is signposted as "Rock Museum" outside the entrance. Since its opening in 1968, the tower has registered over 35 million visitors (as of 2004). At a height of 182 m (597 ft) there is a revolving restaurant, which seats 230 people. A full revolution takes 53 minutes. The tower also serves as a broadcast tower, and has one Deutsche Telekom maintenance elevator with a speed of 4 m/s (13 ft/s), as well as two visitor lifts with a speed of 7 m/s (23 ft/s) which have a capacity of about 30 people per car. The travel time is about 30 seconds. The tower is open daily from 09:00 to 24:00.

There is a concept of making Virtual Reality weather timelapse service from Olympiaturm. In case it were implemented, it would become the first tower worldwide with such function.

About Me

Hi

My name is Mustafa Mmj, I love to travel. My biggest passion is traveling the world and experiencing new adventures and cultures. I live for it. I was born in Mogadishu and  live in Munich, but most years I manage to get three months off from my job to travel the world and write about what I see, hear, feel and do.

Then I go back to work with my heart full and start saving and planning for my next adventure to a new destination.

Sometimes, I find destinations that I just cannot get enough of, and then I have to return there to learn and experience even more.

Some of the countries I have been to are Turkey, Qatar, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Somalia, Austria, Greece and Denmark.

My goal is to build FREE travel guides, where I can share my experiences and whatever lessons I pick up along the way.

I hope you enjoy my travels and please let me know if you have any questions. I love receiving comments and emails about the blog posts that I write.

Bye for now.

Mustafe
