Best Beaches of Somalia

Updated: Feb 2, 2020

One of the most beautiful beaches in the World - Somalia, the pearl of Africa.

“ Somalia has the longest national coastline (3025 km) in Africa with an estimated shelf area (depth 0–200 m) of 32 500 km2 ”

Somalia's coastline consists of the Gulf of Aden to the north, the Guardafui Channel to the northeast, and the Somali Sea to the east. There is a long coastline of about 3333 km[1] the longest on mainland Africa. Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia is situated on eastern coast of Somalia. The northern coast is shared with the Gulf of Aden, the northeastern with Guardafui Channel and the eastern with the Somali Sea. The coastline plays a major role in maintaining economy of country by fishing and trade, as all other fields of economy are not very productive.[2] Somalia has second longest coastline in Africa just behind Madagaskar (4828 km). The coastline is divided between northern and eastern sides. The northern tip meets Djibouti in west and eastern tip meets Kenya in its south. There is a number of Islands in the coastal areas. Ras Caseyr (Cape Guardafui) is easternmost point of Somalia, this point joins the Guardafui Channel to Gulf of Aden.[3]

About Me

My name is Mustafa Mmj, I love to travel. My biggest passion is traveling the world and experiencing new adventures and cultures. I live for it. I was born in Mogadishu and  live in Munich, but most years I manage to get three months off from my job to travel the world and write about what I see, hear, feel and do.

Then I go back to work with my heart full and start saving and planning for my next adventure to a new destination.

Sometimes, I find destinations that I just cannot get enough of, and then I have to return there to learn and experience even more.

Some of the countries I have been to are Turkey, Qatar, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Somalia, Austria, Greece and Denmark.

My goal is to build FREE travel guides, where I can share my experiences and whatever lessons I pick up along the way.

I hope you enjoy my travels and please let me know if you have any questions. I love receiving comments and emails about the blog posts that I write.

Bye for now.
